Adult discipleship classes

We are excited to offer two adult discipleship options in between our Fall and Spring Midweeks this year. Both classes are 5 weeks long and will be from 6:00 to 7:30 pm on Wednesday nights from October 23 to November 20. Classes will meet in the MTC (discipleship building behind the main church building). We will email you which room your class is meeting in before the first night of class.
The two options are God on Mute and Methodism 101. God on Mute is a follow up class to the How to Pray Class we offered this last summer. It will be lead by Rev. Chris and Priscilla Tiger. The focus of this course is engaging the silence of unanswered prayer. There is a $10 fee for this class, which will help cover part of the cost of the book by Pete Grieg.

Methodism 101 will be lead by our pastor, Rev. D.A. Bennett. This class will focus on the history of Methodism, with an emphasis on where we are today in the new Global Methodist Church denomination. This class will also include a report from the Convening General Conference held in Costa Rica, September 20-26. There is no cost for this class.

For questions about either of these class options, you can reach out to Rev. Josh Coats at jcoats@saokc.org or 405.692.4242.

02/22
grandparent legacy conference

There are approximately 30 million grandparents in the U.S. Each one is a potential influence in the lives of their grandchildren. Most Christians would agree, but so little is being done to challenge and equip them.
Legacy Coalition is here to encourage churches to minister to grandparents as they encourage and influence their grandchildren. Our desire is for grandparents to look beyond the pleasures of the retirement culture and invest in the lives of their grandchildren.

Legacy Coalition raises the importance of grandparenting through training, discussion, seminars and webinars as well as recommended resources shared by ministry partners. Legacy Coalition is committed to elevating grandparenting above the larger seniors ministries of the church today.

The grandparenting relationship has incredible potential for discipleship. Legacy Coalition wants grandparents to reap the rewards of their ministry to their grandkids.

Join us on February 22, 2025 from 9:00am-4:30pm for this event!
