Hello, friends, I am D.A. Bennett, the senior pastor here at St. Andrew’s.  If you are considering a church home, and we are alike, then you may want to know some things about the senior pastor of this congregation.  So for better or for worse, here is a bit of information that hopefully is not “too much information” or “overshare”.

The answer to the most asked question of my life is “Donald Adrian”.  That is what D.A. stands for.  I am a proud native of the great state of Oklahoma, and have lived in several different places.  My childhood was spent in rural OK, but our family moved to OKC during my junior high school years.

My wife, Robin, and I have been married since 1987.  We have 3 beautiful children – Garrett (1997), Jonathan (2003) and Charis (2005).  We met while students at Oklahoma City University.  Robin received a degree in accounting, and operates a CPA practice out of our home.  My degree is in Religion, and among different academic awards earned, I was the top graduate of the School of Religion in 1983.  My Master of Divinity degree was earned in 1986 from Oral Roberts University.  Our family enjoys many activities (swimming, fishing, traveling), and have a healthy interest in following the Oklahoma Sooners.

My ministry history includes appointments to Tahlequah (associate pastor), United Campus Ministry (Ada/East Central University) and Will Rogers UMC in Tulsa.  In 2000 I was honored with the Francis Asbury Award for contributions to ministry in higher education.  In 2006 I was honored to receive the Award of Excellence as Volunteer of the Year from Tulsa Public Schools.  For over 20 years I have been involved with Dayspring Camp, a senior high discipleship experience.

St Andrew’s has a brief but meaningful history in South OKC.  It is a privilege to serve as the 2nd senior pastor of this outstanding church.  Our mission is make disciples of Jesus Christ, and we believe it takes all of us working together to fulfill this mission.  If you desire a church that offers exciting worship, emphasizes ministry for all ages, and seeks to serve God by serving our community and the world, then we may be the church family you are looking for!

Grace and Peace,
DA Bennett
Senior Pastor
