Basketball & Cheerleading Season - Register Now!

Every child is a winner! This is the slogan of Upward Sports, and yet Upward is about a lot more than dribbling, bounce passes and cheer megaphones. It is one of the most intentional tools for helping us make disciples of Jesus Christ!

It’s time to start thinking about Upward and how you’d like to help this year. We are organizing our ministry teams and have a board in the Fellowship Area where you can sign up! Ministry areas include coaches, referees, devotion leaders, prayer teams, concession workers and more! Please pray about where you can be a part of this very important ministry.

Registrations are also being taken now for our boys and girls basketball and cheer teams. Upward is open for children in Kindergarten - 6th grade. Early registration cost per child is $70; after October 15, the cost is $80. Everyone must attend one basketball evaluation or cheerleading orientation on Saturday, October 23, between 9:00am-11:00am. Practices begin the week of Monday, November 15. The first games will be played Saturday, January 8. Registration forms are located in the church office, the Fellowship Area.

Coaches Needed – finding coaches and determining practice nights is our top priority right now! Coaches are trained about how to run practices, coach games, learn cheers and share faith with children. Please consider coaching a team that practices one time per week, with games the same time each Saturday. Of course, if you cannot coach, we also need concession workers, prayer partners and referees.

Along with the unique sports experience, the particpant fee includes the following Upward items:

• Basketball: Basketball T-Shirt, reversible jersey, car magnet, music CD and end-of-season award.
• Cheerleading: Cheerleading uniform, megaphone, poms, car magnet, music CD and end-of-season award.

This is a church-wide ministry and everyone is encouraged to participate and get involved as a prayer partner, head coach, assistant coach, devotional leader, and/or concession stand helper.

-Every player plays every game!
-Players are rotated every six minutes!
