A Word from Jeremy Graham, Director of Student Ministries: Students love May because it is so close to summer break. Sure, they despise the finals and tests associated with May, but the reward of two months off from school is worth the extra studying. May also happens to be a big month for St. Andy’s Student Ministries as we are celebrating with the graduates through a brunch and we are welcoming the incoming 6th graders at our first junior high retreat. “Out with the old, in with the new” is not a fitting remark for these circumstances because those that are graduating will be sorely missed. We are thankful for the time they spent with us in student ministries as we wish them well and rejoice with them as they are moving on to other things in life. This year a great group is leaving us and they have provided formidable leadership the past few years. Thanks for all that you have done.

As we move forward, we are excited about those still with us and the students that are moving in this June. This year there will be nearly thirty 6th graders graduating into student ministries and we are excited about having them participate. If you are one of those incoming 6th graders, be aware of this information:

**The junior high retreat is in May and will be overnight.
**You can join us the first Wed. night in June for Impact beginning at 6pm and ending at 8pm.
**Disciple summer camp is June 5-9, but you need to register by May 4.

May 2008 Upcoming Events:
Invite a friend...

Graduation Brunch: On Saturday, May 17, at 10:00am, we will be hosting the Graduation Brunch for all high school and college graduates. Please turn in your photos to Jeremy Graham as soon as possible. We need a birth, growing up and grad picture from you.

Senior Pictures Needed: In preparation for the Senior Brunch which is being held on Saturday, May 17, we need all graduating Seniors (High School and College) to turn in pictures for the slide show. We’d like one baby picture, one “growing up” picture and one current picture. Please have these turned in to Jeremy Graham by Thursday, May 1. Digital photos are preferred but printed photos will be accepted, scanned and returned. We appreciate your help!

Jr. High Retreat: All students currently in 6th-7th grade are invited to attend the Jr. High retreat at Jacob’s Ladder Camp & Retreat Center in Chandler, OK on May 9-10. This one night retreat will cost $65 and includes meals, lodging, transportation, low ropes and climbing walls. It also provides a great opportunity for the 6th graders to experience the student ministry! Retreat pamphlets are located in the Fellowship Hall and the Youth office. Disciple Camp: All students currently in 6th-7th grade are encouraged to sign up for Disciple Camp on June 5-9 at Heart O’Hills Camp in Welling, OK. Total cost is $75. Registration forms are located in the Fellowship Area and the Youth Office. Completed forms and $75 are due by Sunday, May 4. Contact Jeremy Graham at 692-4242, ext. 103 with questions. Impact: Weekly worship experience that happens from 6 - 8pm on Wednesdays, May 7, 14, 21 & 28.

Lunch Joint: Weekly lunch offered for High School students during both lunch hours on Thursdays in the CLC. For only $3 you will receive a Chick-fil-a sandwich, chips, drink and dessert. Lunch Joint will be offered on Thursday, May 1 & 8.

Jesus University (JU): JU happens Sunday mornings at 9:30am. There are four classes for the following age groups: 7th-8th, 9th, 10th & 11th-12th. We’re also starting a NEW BIBLE STUDY for all 6th GRADERS! 6th Graders will meet at St. Andrew’s in the CLC. Snacks are needed for this new class. If you are able to help provide the snacks, please contact Jeremy Graham at 692-4242, ext. 103.

Small Groups:

On Sunday afternoons from 4:00pm-6:00pm, we have small groups that are separated by age and gender. During May, we will meet on Sunday, May 4 and Sunday, May 18.

The Student Ministry will be hosting small groups as follows:

Junior High guys (7th-8th grade): Mitch Johnson 13900 Lago Strada
Junior High girls (7th-8th grade): Lindsey Scott's house
High School guys (9th-12th grade): Grant Johnson 7425 SW 112th St
High School girls (9th-12th grade): Lindsey Scott's house
