PIM is an organization of the North and South Oklahoma City Districts of the United Methodist Church. It's mission is to aid in the birth of new churches in the Bi-District area and other ministry needs. It's efforts are funded by many Partners in Mission who make annual and semi-annual contributions.
Over the years, they have had many successful church starts. Thanks to the generosity of many Partners, they have been instrumental in spreading the word of Jesus Christ in the Greater Oklahoma City area.
One of the most recent church starts is Bridgeview United Methodist Church in Norman Oklahoma. Reverend Dave Poteet and a few faithful members have been working hard over the last few years to get this new congregation on a firm foundation.
Another current project that needs the support of our Partners in Mission is completing the funding necessary to build the building for the Wesley Foundation at Langston. This Wesley Foundation is the only one in Oklahoma without a permanent home. Land has been acquired directly across the street from the campus for this building. No doubt, locating this close to campus will enable the ministry of the Langston Wesley Foundation to grow and meet the spiritual needs of the many students there.
You can be a Partner in Mission. A Partner agrees to take a share each year (a share is $100). When active projects need funding (Like BridgeView and the Langston Wesley Foundation), Partners receive call letters twice each year asking for 1/2 of their share. It is pretty painless for most but the contributions of many have a huge impact on our United Methodist ministry in the North and South districts.
