Worship Celebrations
St. Andrew’s worship ministry combines the best of traditional hymns with contemporary praise & worship music. Our desire is that the Worship Ministry will be a catalyst for helping people to enter into the joy and fullness of worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ. We are a changed people as we enter the presence of an Awesome Holy God!
Worship services are offered at 8:15, 9:30, and 10:50 a.m. The 8:15 a.m. service celebrates the traditions of worship by including more hymns, being less driven musically in rhythm & style, and it is more reflective in nature. The 9:30 and 10:50 a.m. services are more contemporary in style with joyful, more rhythmically driven music. Sunday school is available during the 2nd and 3rd services for all ages and the nursery is available for all three services.
We are thankful for the foundational elements of the Faith that is drawn from the Early Church traditions! We celebrate the Lords Supper on the first Sunday of every month and Baptisms are incorporated into or after the AM worship services. The Church shares creeds of the Faith as well as The Lord's Prayer regularly in each of the worship services. New members are welcomed on the 4th Sundays.
2:42 Services
Acts 2:42 is the framework for this NEW ministry! On Sunday evenings, 2-3 times a year, the body of Christ gathers to fellowship, sing, pray and study God's Word. We start with dinner and then enter into an extended worship and prayer.
Instrumental Ministries
The Worship Band meets on Wednesday evenings to prepare to bless the Lord with excellence on Sunday mornings! The worship band is made up of keyboards, drums, bass, and acoustic guitars, with different orchestral instruments added in each week. Most of these players are experienced musicians who can play the styles that contemporary music demands.
The Worship Orchestra is made up of the Worship Band plus musicians who have had at least two years of experience, and "the old pro's!" Dust off that horn, restring that violin and join us!
A Handbell Choir began in 2003 with the purchase of a three octave set. Director Ginny Pass leads rehearsals on Tuesday evening and Jerry Hughes directs on Thursday evening in the Worship Center. A third handbell group is being formed now. The handbell choir always has an opening for you!
Private Instruction is provided at St. Andrew's for piano, voice, and guitar. Call the music office for more information.
Choral Ministries
The Worship Choir meets on Wednesday evenings and is an extension of the worship leadership who point to Christ through song each Sunday! They minister through a variety of styles from “WOW” praise & worship to black gospel, and from jazz to the classics! There is a place for YOU in the choir, especially if you enjoy being around folks who love to sing! During the Easter and Christmas seasons, we see the choir expand to greater numbers as they prepare concerts and musical dramas to share with the community.
Harmonies of every style are heard in Sunday worship from Ensembles of all sizes and special soloists, as well as in variety shows, banquets and other church gatherings. Join us as we sing God’s praise!
Worship teams are formed each month to lead us in Sunday worship. Each team of singers rehearses on Wednesday evenings with the band. The Team is made up of specially selected singers who love the Lord and who have voices that lead. They are people who read music and who can communicate the love of Jesus through music and expression!
Youth Music Ministry
We are blessed with a youth team and band that shares their gifts regularly in the morning worship services as well as at Impact. The Student Ministries Service is on Sunday evenings.
A Junior High Worship Arts program helps 7th - 9th graders find their place in ministry with their gifts! During the summer months the students work on a musical drama to share in the Fall. Contact: Jason Waugh.
Kids In Ministry
Children in the 1st – 6th grades meet on Sunday evenings beginning in September from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall and Worship Center. The children learn a Christmas musical drama to present to the Church in December. They also have opportunities to share their music with area nursing homes. The kids will also learn songs to sing in the 9:30 and 10:50 a.m. Sunday morning worship services. Kid’s Are Ministers too! The leaders are Ginny Pass and Susan Morris.
Preschool Music
The preschool children learn songs during their Sunday School hour to sing in Sunday worship 5-6 times per year, which includes: Palm Sunday, Mother's Day and Christmas. David Carr is the director. They will also sing in the December Christmas presentation.
Drama Ministries
Drama teams meet regularly to prepare scripts that enhance worship and provide insight into Christian living. Multiple teams of all ages present dramas throughout the year. St. Andrew's also produces musical dramas throughout the year where all the creative gifts are given the opportunity to be expressed. There are many ways that you can be involved in this ministry such as: writer, director, actor, costume seamstress, painter, carpenter, scene designer, and more! Join us as we give back to God, the Giver of all gifts!
Dance Ministries
Currently, we are forming liturgical dance teams for all ages. Through this ministry, we will teach the principles and use of liturgical dance in worship through a variety of styles. The liturgical dance teams assists during special seasonal occasions as well as for Worship services throughout the year. This special ministry is a way to allow those who have a heart and gift for dance and movement to use them in honor and praise to the Lord! Under the direction of Angie Martin, liturgical dance is becoming an integral part of our worship ministries.
